On the morning of Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) 18th birthday, Caroline (Candice Accola) is busy planning a party, but Elena is focused on searching for any clues that might help her discover where Stefan (Paul Wesley) is. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is also searching for Stefan, while trying to protect Elena and keep her from doing anything that would draw Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) attention. Meanwhile, Klaus and Stefan are busy trailing a werewolf named Ray Sutton (guest star David Gallagher, “Super 8”). Now working at the Mystic Grill along with Matt (Zach Roerig), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is struggling to understand why he keeps seeing the ghosts of Vicki (guest star Kayla Ewell) and Anna (guest star Malese Jow) since he was brought back to life by Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) magic. Meanwhile, Alaric (Matt Davis) does his best to watch over Elena and Jeremy, while dealing with his grief over Jenna’s death. Finally, Caroline and Tyler (Michael Trevino) face a new and unexpected challenge.

Unexpected challenge? If you thought things were going to be easy for the shippers of Caroline and Tyler were going to have it easy, think again.

Ahead of the September 15 premiere of The Vampire Diaries, The CW released a new preview of the popular vampire series that shows the bad side Stefan Salvatore.

In the new Season 3 preview of The Vampire Diaries, fans get a look at Candice Accola as Caroline in bed with Tyler, played by Michael Trevino. Also in the Season 3 preview, Ian Somerhalder takes on the role of a rational Damon while fans see a crazy Paul Wesley as Stefan. The new preview certainly raises questions about the fate of Stefan, Damon, and Elena ahead of the Season 3 return of The Vampire Diaries on September 15?

Michael attended the Teen Choice Awards at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA tonight and won Choice Television Scene Stealer and The Vampire Diaries also won Choice Sci-Fi Television Show. I’ve added photos from the event into the gallery.

New episodes of The Vampire Diaries will be returning to the CW this fall, and all summer long fans can catch up with reruns of the second season. However, now the CW has announced their fall premiere schedule, and the date of the return of your favorite characters from Mystic Falls has been revealed.

The CW drama will kick off its third season on Thursday, September 15, at 8PM, followed by the series premiere of The Secret Circle, based on books by the same author, L.J. Smith. The second season ended with fans wanting more, as Stefan (Paul Wesley) is now working for Klaus (new series regular Joseph Morgan) as part of a deal he made to save his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) from the werewolf bite he got from Tyler (Michael Trevino). Meanwhile, Elena (Nina Dobrev) kissed Damon while he was on his deathbed, and now they’ll have to deal with the consequences.

Another E! Online Tater Top category opened, another nom for Vampire Diaries: Candice Accola and Michael Trevino are both up for TV Breakout Star of the Year. This was a big year for both Tyler and Caroline, so let’s show ‘em so love, yeah?
